Sharing images of deceased male found at Irish beach 'disrespectful' - Gardaí

editorial image

Gardaí are urging the public to cease sharing images of a deceased male found at a beach in Dublin.

The man's body was discovered at Bower Beach in Balbriggan on Thursday April 20, after which pictures of the deceased began circulating on social messaging apps.

In a statement released yesterday (April 21) An Garda Síochána stated the circulation of the images was unhelpful to the investigation and "disrespectful to the family of the deceased".

Gardaí are currently following a number of definite lines of enquiry regarding the discovery, and are making efforts to contact family members of the deceased.

No other details are available at this time.
