ALERT: Popular shop recalls children's toys sold to thousands of parents due to choking risk

Penneys is recalling two brands of children's toys sold to thousands of Irish parents due to a major choking hazard.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Primark Limited (t/a Penneys) is carrying out a recall of the Primark Wooden Music Shaker (model 7495201, barcode 539725409372), and the Primark DTR M&M Maracas (model 5311101, barcode 5397256182242).

The bottom part of the handle may become detached from the rattles, causing small parts which may be ingested by small children.

There are approximately 6,438 affected Wooden Music Shaker products in the Republic of Ireland, with 1,539 DTR M&M Maracas.

If you believe that you may have purchased an affected product, discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.

If you have purchased these products then please return it to any Penneys/Primark store where you will be offered a full refund.
