Potential flooding expected in 8 counties as Met Éireann issues yellow rain warning

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for eight counties. 

According to the weather service, the warning covers counties Cavan, Longford and Westmeath, as well as all of Connacht including Sligo, Roscommon, Galway, Leitrim and Mayo. 

Heavy or prolonged showers can be expected, as well as possible localised flooding, difficult driving conditions and poor visbility. 

The warning is valid from this morning (Sunday October 29) at 10.55am until 9pm this evening.
