Gardaí appeal for witnesses as tragic crash claims life of female pedestrian in Dublin

THE LIFE of a female pedestrian has been claimed after a fatal road traffic collision occurred in Dublin.

The incident unfolded on Manor Street, Stoneybatter at approximately 11:15am this Monday morning.

The victim was fatally injured when she was struck by a truck on Manor Street.

Emergency services, including the gardaí, rushed to the scene, but sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries. Her body has been removed from the location and transported to Dublin City Mortuary.

The driver of the truck involved in the collision was unharmed.

Manor Street has been closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene, and traffic diversions are currently in place, affecting the normal flow of the area.

Authorities at the Bridewell garda station are reaching out to the public for any assistance in their investigation. They are appealing to individuals who may have witnessed the incident or have information related to it to come forward. Specifically, road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Manor Street or the surrounding areas between 10:45 am and 11:30 am are urged to share any camera footage they may have, including dash cam recordings.

 Those with information are encouraged to contact the Bridewell garda station at 01 666 8200. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously through the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or by reaching out to any garda station.
