A young motorist was found to be driving under the influence after striking a wall and tree at the weekend.
According to Gardaí, the incident occurred on Saturday night when the driver crashed along a main road in Co Monaghan.
A test revealed they were under the influence at the time.
Commenting on the incident on X (formerly Twitter), a Garda spokesperson stated, "This could have been a very different scene for us to arrive to."
A court date will be arranged.
