A man is due to appear in court this Friday afternoon in connection with the murder of Michael Foley.
Michael 'Mickey' Foley was found at a residence in Annville in Barrett’s Place, Macroom, Co Cork, at approximately 1pm on Tuesday, February 6.
Mr Foley’s younger brother, Timmy, was also murdered in 2018. Timmy's body was found by Gardaí in a pool of blood in a bungalow in Macroom, having been stabbed 28 times by his ex-wife, Rita O'Driscoll.
Gardaí have charged the man, 30s, who was arrested as part of the investigation and he is due to appear before Bandon District Court this afternoon, Friday, February 16, 2024.
A woman, 30s, arrested in connection to the murder of Michael Foley, 61, has this Friday also been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigations are ongoing.
