All four individuals were held at a garda station in the north-western region before being released without charge
Four people who were being questioned about a suspected arson attack at a hotel earmarked for asylum seekers have been released without charge, gardai have confirmed.
The Ross Lake House hotel in Rosscahill, Co. Galway was due to accommodate around 70 asylum seekers, but a fire broke out at the premises on December 16, last.
A major investigation was subsequently launched and two men and two men were arrested earlier this week.
The men, aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Criminal Damage Act 1991 while the women, also aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act 1998.
All four individuals were held at a garda station in the north-western region before being released without charge.
