ALERT: Syrup for teething babies sold in Irish pharmacies recalled by health group

A batch of a popular syrup for teething babies has been recalled due to an undeclared ingredient.

According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), Foran Healthcare is voluntarily recalling the affected batch of its Glycerine and Aniseed Soothing Syrup as a precautionary measure as peppermint oil may have been added in error.

The affected batch number is PB2400411 (Best before 01/2026).

Peppermint oil is not normally used in the product and therefore is not declared in the list of ingredients and may have unknown adverse effects.

Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

If you have any further queries, Foran Healthcare can be contacted on 01 626 8058 or sales@forans.com
