Social media reacts to one of the *many* Ryanair digs at Green Party leader Eamon Ryan TD

Eamon Ryan TD has resigned from government

Ryanair has called Eamon Ryan TD a "failed Green minister" in one of their many online digs at him, amid the Green Party leader's shock resignation.

The budget airline company has made numerous posts on X (formerly Twitter) mocking the minister, with some social media users branding the posts 'pathetic'.

The Minister for the Environment, Climate, Communications and Transport announced his resignation this Tuesday, citing his departure as 'passing the torch to a new generation of leaders'.

"I cannot continue to work the long hours that being a public representative involves, which is why I'm not standing again in the next general election. I have parenting commitments at home which I also want to serve.

"We have a son with special needs who also requires my attention. My wife has been my greatest support and inspiration," he said upon resigning.

While many people rushed to social media to share their reactions and views of Minister Ryan's departure from government, Ryanair weighed in with a series of 'nasty' tweets.

One person said: "I don’t vote for the Green Party but there’s no need to be nasty. People actually do have feelings. Really surprised you put that on X, posts shouldn’t get personal."

Others agreed, saying: "Corporate bullying, Ryanair style", "Keep it cheap and mean lads. I know that's your business model but perhaps today wasn't the day", and "Very poor form even if you don't agree with him, corporations personally attacking individuals is not a good look".

Other social media users cited that the series of 'personal attacks' on the minister as 'disrespectful' and 'low'.
