Several specimens were seized
A NUMBER of 'endangered' animals have been seized following a joint operation in Limerick.
A joint operation was carried out this Friday by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and AnGarda Siochána, in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine and the ISPCA.
A number of properties in East and South Limerick were searched in relation to alleged breaches of the Wildlife Act and the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations concerning trade in endangered animals under the CITES Convention (the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

During the operation, a number of specimens were seized.
The agencies involved will be following on with further investigations under the relevant legislation.
