Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Abbeyleix, County Laois on Tuesday evening, 8 July in which a young man in his 20s was tragically killed.
The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred at approximately 7.50pm on the N77 at the junction of the Portlaoise Road and the Ballyroan Road.
Gardaí have confirmed that the motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The body of the deceased was removed to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.
The scene of the collision remains preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators on Wednesday morning.

Local diversions are in place as the road from Main Street in Abbeyleix to Tonduff Cross on the Portlaoise Road is closed.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road users or pedestrians who were in the area between 7pm and 8pm and who may have camera or dash cam footage are asked to make this available to gardaí.
