Shock as ‘tragic accident’ results in the death of Ukrainian national at accommodation centre

A displaced male Ukrainian national died by falling down the stairs of an accommodation centre in County Limerick.

As reported by the Limerick Post, the man, who was aged in his 30s, fell on Christmas Eve at the Bruff Accommodation Centre, which was formerly the former Ard Scoil Mhuire secondary boarding and day school.

The website also reported that gardaí said that the man later passed away from his injuries at University Hospital Limerick.

He was pronounced dead on St Stephen's Day, according to Extra.ie.

Gardaí also said that the death does not appear to be suspicious, and that it instead appears to be 'a tragic accident.'

More than 200 Ukranian refugees have been housed at the Old Convent in Bruff since September.
