Festive cheer in Tipperary for patients and staff at local hospital

It was a day of excitement, smiles and warmth at Nenagh Hospital recently when the North Tipperary Agricultural contractors brought festive lights, Santa Claus, Mrs Claus, and even snow, to the patients and staff and their families.

Louise Morgan Walsh, a Clinical Nurse Manager in Med 1 said the visit from Santa Claus & Mrs Claus is our way in bringing joy to the patients who might be missing out on the festivities.

“When we have Santa, Mrs Claus, the Christmas Tractors, musicians, hospital staff and families here, the hospital turns into a magical place and Santa meets the patients and presents them with wonderful gifts sponsored by Nenagh Chamber of Commerce and Nenagh Lions Club. The patients love it and it really does bring joy to our faces with we see their excitement.” 

Santa himself expressed his delight in making the early stop to Nenagh Hospital.

“I love making the early stop to Nenagh Hospital every year, meeting the patients and the amazing people working here in the hospital. It’s wonderful to be here and I want to thank my good friend Albert Purcell for his wonderful escort on the Christmas tractors."

The festive visit also included beautiful music and Christmas carols from Twisty & Jay, dancers, lots of treats for the visitors and staff, and photos with Mr & Mrs Claus and the Christmas tractors.
