Curated by the Nenagh Street Collective, a group of regional photographers and visual artists, the show features 29 works exploring Éist—the Irish word for “listen.”
The collective examines the interplay between sound and image, producing photographs that are meant to be heard as well as seen. The works probe the connections between voice, self and community, and reflect on identity, cultural legacy and wellbeing.
Visitors are encouraged to bring smartphones to access accompanying audio reflections and soundscapes. Headphones or earbuds allow for private listening, maintaining a quiet space in which the experience can be fully absorbed.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Ciaran Houlihan, Ireland’s top award-winning Elvis tribute artist, who will perform at the launch.
