Irish Water's proposal to take 330 million litres of water from Parteen Basin below Lough Derg and pump it to the Greater Dublin area will be the topic for discussion at Limerick Civic Trust’s third annual lecture series this Thursday October 18, in St Munchin’s Church, King’s Island, Limerick.
The plan will be outlined by Emma Kennedy, Kennedy Analysis, who will travel from Zurich to speak about the project.
Ms Kennedy, a member of the River Shannon Protection Alliance, is the founder of Kennedy Analysis, whose work in relation to Ireland's water supply and leakage levels has become well publicised.
She appeared before the Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government in April relation to the proposed Shannon pipeline and also on Prime Time.
The lecture starts at 8pm and admission is €10 or concessions €8 per lecture. Tickets are available online at www.eventbrite.ie
