Newcastle's Bridie Kennedy was a loyal GAA supporter

A profound sadness descended on Newcastle  on Wednesday, November 22, last, with the passing of Mrs Bridie Kennedy, Suirview, wife of the late Willie.

Bridie was known for  her gentle and obliging nature and a light hearted person who enjoyed her outings to social events and looked forward to her Thursday mornings in Tigh na nDaoine in Newcastle for a few hours of entertainment, where she will be missed.

Like her late husband Willie and her family she was a GAA follower and there was no prouder woman in Newcastle when her grandson Seamus came to Newcastle with other Tipperary hurlers bringing with them the All Ireland Trophy won in 2016.

Reposal was at her residence where her coffin was draped with the GAA flag. Her remains were removed to Newcastle Church on Friday evening where they were received and blessed by Fr G Desmond PP, who also celebrated requiem mass on Saturday morning.

During Mass readings and offertory gifts were taken up by family members.

Following Mass, burial took place in the old cemetery Newcastle.

We extend sincere sympathy to her family on the loss of a gentle and loving mother.R.I.P.
