The event welcomed distinguished guests from the Offaly Intermediate Camogie team, including Captain Orlagh Phelan, Mairéad Teehan, Ciara Maher and Emer Reynolds.

Also celebrated were Fíona Scully, a proud All-Ireland winner with the successful Laois Premier Junior Camogie team.

Fellow past pupil Joe Fogarty, a member of the Tipperary senior hurling panel, was likewise acknowledged for his outstanding sporting achievements.

Camogie mentor Ms O’Gorman and hurling mentor Mr Smyth spoke with pride about the visiting athletes, reflecting on their dedication, leadership, and commitment during their time at Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.

They praised the players for continuing to represent their school and counties with distinction and integrity.

Although unable to attend, Christine Cleary and Sharon Shanahan were also recognised for her contribution to Offaly’s championship victory and Alan Tynan to the Tipperary Senior Hurling All Ireland success.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Principal Ms Ciara Ormond expressed admiration for the athletes and the inspiration they offer to current students: “To have 9 past pupils win All-Ireland medals, in the same sporting year, from three counties associated with our school is something truly special. Their achievements inspire our students to pursue excellence both on and off the field. It is no surprise to us here in the Coláiste to see these students succeed, they were very active members of our school community, and we are very fortunate they each left an indelible mark and legacy with us. We are bursting with pride for each one of them.”

The celebration was not only a tribute to sporting excellence but also a testament to the unity, pride, and community spirit that defines Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.

The school continues to nurture talent, foster teamwork, and encourage determination across all disciplines — sporting and academic alike.
