Roscrea trailblazers hillwalking notes

On Thursday evening last the Trail Blazers were at Terryglass on The Shannon. This was an 8km road walk led by local woman Geraldine Caufield who looked after the group on the night with tea and coffee in Paddy’s bar afterwards. Well done to all that made the night such a success.

The trip to the Guinness Estate planned for this Saturday the 1st of September has been postponed and instead the Blazers will be at The Galtys to do a low level walk into Lough Curra. This is a 11km moderate/strenuous hike with great views across the Glen of Aherlow. Meeting at Mulrooney’s Gala at 9am.

Now that the evenings have started to stretch out, we are back to walking further afield. This is still a great way to keep fit over the coming spring and summer months. The Trail Blazers would like to put out an open invitation to the general public to join them at some point on their walks programme for 2018. Walking is a great way to get into shape as well as being a great way to meet new friends and see new places.

The Trail Blazers website  www.roscreatrailblazers.com is up and running with a list of 13 day trips over the coming months and we encourage you to give it a look and see what the group   Future planned day trips. 1.
