Tipperary's Anna Ryan scoops All Ireland Gold in Tullamore

Ursuline's Anna Ryan

Ursuline Thurles student Anna Ryan has won the Intermediate Schools All Ireland gold medal in the Pole Vault at the recent championships held in Tullamore.

Anna was already the All Ireland Junior champion and the record holder. This victory in the Intermediate championship was won in a personal best of 3 metres 30.

She had not jumped this before June 5 and came into the finals as the silver medalist from Munster. Anna's win is thoroughly deserved and a fine reward for the hard work and dedication she displays at all times.

She has been selected for the Munster team in the Tailteann Games, following in the steps of Claire Rafter, Maria Halley, Ciara Cummins and Eileen Rafter from previous Ursuline teams. All the best to Anna as she continues competing this summer.
