Old Bridge 1 – 3 Mullinahone (After Extra Time)
Mullinahone advanced to the next round of soccer's Munster Junior Shield after extra-time in a scrappy but dramatic tie against Old Bridge.
The visitors thought their chance was gone after putting the ball in the net three times in normal time but the goals were ruled out (two for handballs, one for offside).
The game finally had a goal on 76 minutes when Alex Maher punished slack defending to put Mullinahone ahead.

The lead lasted less than a minute, Luke O’Donnell equalising for Old Bridge with a powerful header from a Simon O’Donnell cross.

The hosts then felt aggrieved when a strong penalty shout was waved away after Alex Greene, their standout performer, was fouled in the area. Greene’s withdrawal through injury seemed to blunt their momentum.
In extra-time, Mullinahone’s experience told. Adam Houlihan restored their lead on 96 minutes with a crisp finish, before Philip Dunne sealed it on 111 minutes after more hesitant defending.
