Saturday 3rd December Santa comes to town

Santa Claus was transported by his friends from the Fire Station to West Gate Car Park where he boarded his sleigh. He travelled down O’ Connell Street turning on the lights as he went. Santa was joined by performers from the Alison Cronin Dance School. The parade proceeded down Mitchell Street, Parnell Street and culminated in the Kickham Barracks Plaza, where “Banna Cluain Meala”, “Dave and the Hesitations” and the Alison Cronin dancers entertained the crowd.

This event was sponsored by Boston Scientific.

Saturday 10th December Santa Dash and Christmas Karaoke

A number of Santa’s along with their motor cyclist friends paraded down O’Connell Street and there was a short Santa dash to the Main Guard. Santa stopped to speak to some of the children and a Karaoke session took place under the Main Guard with members of the public joining in.

Saturday 17th December Music at The Kickham Barracks Plaza

It was intended to hold the music event at The Kickham Barracks Plaza, however weather conditions made it unsafe to do so. Instead the performers, Conor O’Gorman, “Uproar Rock Chorus”, “Belle Voci Choir”, and “The Spoofers” performed in CTI, The Mall, Clonmel, amongst the crafters who were taking part in a craft fair. This event was sponsored by the Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.

Sunday 4th , 11th and 18th December, Santa’s Grotto at East Lane, Clonmel

Santa was in residence in his grotto for the first three Sundays in December, where he met the children who told him what they wanted for Christmas. He also listened to their stories about the naughty elves who were wreaking havoc in homes everywhere. This event was sponsored by Infosys.
