Great win for Tipperary athlete in hot Burren half-marathon

CLARE BURREN HALF MARATHON
The Clare Burren races were held on Saturday last. It hosted a 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon. It started at Ballyvaughan and took in the Wild Atlantic Way and the Burren. Barry Hartnett competed in the Half Marathon and had a fantastic run to win in 1:29:03 on what was a hot day.

BOB HEFFERNAN AND MARY HANLEY 5K
The Bob Heffernan and Mary Hanley 5k was held on Tuesday, May 16. It starts about a mile outside Johnstownbridge on the Enfield to Edenderry Road. It’s a popular race that is flat and fast. Kevin Moore was fifth in a fast time of 14:55.

JOHN BUCKLEY 5K
The extremely popular John Buckley 5k was held on Tuesday, May 23 in Cork. It is part of the Cork BHAA series. Eamonn Morrissey had a great race to place 20th in 15:53.

FETHARD 5K
The Fethard 5k was held on Thursday last . It is great to see the club hosting races again. We had four athletes competing. First home for the club was 8th Dymphna Ryan 17:23 who won the women’s race. Next we had 16th Philly O’Dwyer 18:19, 26th Paudie Coen 19:00 and 47th Catherine Fogarty 20:32. It was great running by all.

MUNSTER MASTERS TRACK AND FIELD
The Munster Masters Track and Field was held on Saturday last in Templemore. Dymphna Ryan competed in the 1,500m. She won the race overall and claimed the Over 40 title in a time of 4:39.06.

OORDEGAM BELGIUM
Kevin Moore travelled over to Oordegam, Belgium for their night time track meet. He also ran this race last year. He competed in the 5,000m, which took place at 1am on Saturday last, and finished the course in a time of 14:51.
