Four league debutants on Tipperary senior football team to play Carlow

Tipperary's Jimmy Feehan will be at full back when the Premier take on Carlow at FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, this evening (Saturday).

Tipperary senior footballers will open their 2024 National Football League campaign with a home game against Carlow in FBD Semple Stadium at 6 pm this evening (Saturday). First up in Division 4 for new manager Paul Kelly is Carlow and Tipperary will be hoping for a positive start, buoyed up by a recent McGrath Cup win over Division 3 side Limerick at Templetuohy on Sunday week last.


Ballina’s Steven O’Brien has taken over as captain and will partner Paudie Feehan (Killenaule) at midfield.

There are league debuts for Stephen Grogan (Cahir) and Kieran Costello (Thurles Sarsfields) in the half-back line, while Shane Neville (Cratloe, formerly Lattin/Cullen) and Paddy Creedon (Thurles Sarsfields) are selected to their league debuts in the forwards.
