Some of the Clonmel Swimming Club members who swam at the at the Gerry Ryan Memorial Gala in the UL Arena recently.
Clonmel Swimming Club had an extremely busy weekend at the Gerry Ryan Memorial Gala. This gala is a Long Course event hosted by Limerick Swimming Club in the UL Sports Arena.
The club sent approximately 30 swimmers participating in 125 events over the course of the competition. Our swimmers performed brilliantly all through the weekend, with top performances from all, with many greatly improving on previous performances and achieving personal bests during this prestigious competition.
Special mention goes to our medallists.
Caroline Smith had a great weekend winning two gold medals, one in the 50m Freestyle and one in the 100m Freestyle and also grabbing a silver medal in the 50m Fly.
Garry Hanrahan also swam strongly throughout the weekend and came away with a gold medal in the 50m Fly and two bronze medals, one in the 200m Individual Medley and also the 100m Freestyle.
Victoria Szyszkowska finished a great weekend with a bronze medal in the 50m Breaststroke. Thanks go to all our parent volunteers and our coaches who made participation possible for all.
