Clonmel High School’s Under 16 rugby team has advanced to tomorrow's semi-final of the Mungret Shield following a comprehensive 40-20 win over Midleton College on the Clonmel school’s 4G pitch last Friday.
First half tries from Alex Pyke and Rian Galko, with two conversions by Conall Morrisson, gave the High School a 14-10 lead at half-time.
Midleton College scored a penalty and converted try of their own.
The High School pushed on in the second half with tries from Sam Normile, PJ Walsh, Anthony Fitzgerald and Mbekezeli Masuku.
Conall Morrisson added another three conversions. Midleton College scored another two tries but the result was never in doubt.
The High School will now play Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig in the semi-final this Friday March 1 in Ballincollig RFC at 12pm.

Clonmel High School’s Under 14 rugby team played Midleton College in a friendly in Clonmel RFC last Friday.
It was a very entertaining game, with both sides scoring three tries.
All 27 players on the High School panel played and are improving with every game.
Well done to the team and coaches.
