Some of the Clonmel Swimming Club members who took part in the Munster Aspiring Champions Gala Session at the UL Sports Arena on Sunday last
On Sunday last Clonmel Swimming Club brought 33 competitors to the UL Sports Arena to participate in the Munster Aspiring Champions Gala Session 1.
More than 500 swimmers from around the province turned up to compete in 15 events in multiple age categories from 13 through to 17 and over.
Clonmel swimmers performed brilliantly and brought home many personal bests, while notching up 36 top 10 finishes in various stroke disciplines and age categories.
Within these top 10s, the club had three excellent first places from Victoria Szyszkowska in the Girls 200 Metres Fly, Sean Kelly in the Boys 50 Metres Freestyle and Gary Hanrahan in the Boys 200 Metres Fly. So all in all it was a great day’s work by all these young athletes.
We look forward now to this Sunday, March 10 when we will travel in force again for session 2 of the Munster Aspiring Champions Gala.
