Dundrum AC's Barry Hartnett who won the Burren Half Marathon Challenge for the second year in a row
CLARE BURREN MARATHON CHALLENGE
The Clare Burren Marathon Challenge was held on Saturday, May 25. This also incorporates a mini marathon and a half marathon. The race starts out of Ballyvaughan and traverses the Burren plateau limestone trails before descending back down to the coast to finish back at Ballyvaughan pier.
Barry Hartnett competed in the Half Marathon and won for the second year in a row in 01:26:21.
BUTTEVANT RC 4 MILE
The Buttevant RC 4 Mile was held on Friday, May 17 in Buttevant, county Cork. We had one club member travel to the rebel county. Liam Butler ran the race in 32:48.
WALLS OF FETHARD 5K
The Walls of Fethard 5k was held on Friday, May 24. It was a lovely evening for racing with sunshine and a slight breeze. The start and finish were outside the Town Park entrance. The course had stretches of inclines and declines.
First home for the club in a great time was fifth Dymphna Ryan 17:08 and was 1st Woman.
Next, we had 30th Jim Hally 19:55, 39th Tommy Byrnes 20:23, 40th Shane White 20:32, 41st Paul Bradshaw 20:31 and 60th Tony Delaney 21:52.
JOHN KELLY 7.5K MEMORIAL RUN
The John Kelly 7.5k Memorial Run was held on Sunday, May 26 in Loughmore and hosted by Loughmore National School. It’s a nice course with an uphill finish. Linda Grogan had a great race to to place fourth overall and was first woman in 28:49.
