Following last Saturday’s win over Wexford in their final round robin group game, Tipperary have been drawn away to Munster neighbours Limerick, in the preliminary quarter-finals, to be played this coming weekend.
Limerick secured their place in the last 12 with a victory over London on Saturday last.
Time and Limerick venue to be confirmed later today.
The sides last met in a McGrath Cup game played in Templetuohy in January with Tipperary emerging victorious to claim their first-ever win under manager Paul Kelly. However, following poor Allianz League campaigns for both, Limerick were relegated to Division 4 without winning a point, while Tipperary remained in the bottom rung with just one win recorded.
The winners will advance to a quarter-final and an away fixture against one of the four group winners: Kildare, Sligo, Fermanagh or Down.
