The countdown is on to the 152nd edition of the 123.ie National Senior Track and Field Athletics Championships, which take place at the Morton Stadium in Dublin across Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30.
This year’s championships are being viewed as one of the most anticipated in recent years, given the success enjoyed by Irish athletes at the European Championships in Rome, coupled with the proximity to the Olympic Games in Paris, which get underway at the end of next month.
A host of stars are already entered, including some of the medallists from that record-breaking six days in Rome; Thomas Barr (400 metres hurdles), Christopher O’Donnell (400 metres), Tipperary's Sharlene Mawdsley (200 metres), Phil Healy (200 metres and 400 metres) and Lauren Cadden (400 metres).
