Massive turnout for the annual 'road hurling' tournament in Annacarty

The winners received fine mementos of the occasion.

The annual road hurling tournament was a huge success this Christmas in Annacarty Donohill with a massive turnout of people to cheer on competitors and many to participate too.
A post online praised the organisers and listed the winners: "Another brilliant day at our road hurling tournament with 79 teams participating, thanks to all who took part especially those teams from outside the parish who made it another brilliant edition.
"Thanks to Crosses for giving out the hosting us once again on the day: Men’s: Colm O Dwyer, Alan O Dwyer & Willie armshaw (15 shots); Women’s: Sorcha White, Sinead White & Ciara O Dwyer; Masters: Vincent, Michael & Liam Ryan; Juvenile: Daniel Crowe, Ciaran Martin & Jesse Julian.
"Also a big thanks to all our raffle sponsors, Doherty environmental services, Toomeys Monard, Lar Corbett and the Bradshaws.
"Thanks to all our organisers who helped with the stewarding and other tasks on the day and finally those who gave to the Donohill playground collection on the day. A happy new year to all"
