We recognise the impact sport has on our lives at occasions such as the Annerville Awards, which were presented by the Tipperary United Sports Panel to the Tipperary amateur sports stars of the year at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel.
This was stated by Sports Panel member Seamus McCarthy, who was the MC for the presentation ceremony.
“Sport makes us and shapes us but little can be achieved without vision," he stated.
"Vision ignites the fire of passion essential for sporting success and allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement. Our vision is what we strive to achieve in life.
“Heroism and great deeds are no strangers to Tipperary. We love our heroes and their exploits are enshrined forever in our hearts and minds. Tonight, new heroes and sporting legends are born and we celebrate your successes and share your stories.
“It is indeed humbling to be in the midst of greatness again tonight and we welcome our wonderful award winners, many of whom have performed in locations from Roscrea in the north to Carrick-on-Suir in the south and from the heights of the Galtees to the slopes of Slievenamon.
“You have enthralled us with your performances, national and international, and we acknowledge the fame that you have brought to your communities, county and country and we congratuate you for representing us so positively during 2024. With positivity in our hearts we remain forever young.

“Sport, particularly amateur sport, brings out the true spirit of participation and sporting endeavour, and provides us with memories that will last a lifetime and sustain us forever”.
