The below report from the Tipperary Star is dated February 9, 1991 and outlines current Tipperary manager Liam Cahill winning a gold medal at the All-Ireland senior and juvenile cross-country championships.
The report says: "LIAM CAHILL, Coolquill, was the only individual from the county to capture individual gold at the All-Ireland senior and juvenile cross-country championships held last weekend in Rostrevor, County Down.
"Paul Kelly, Colm Everard, Louise Maher and Eamonn Madden all were either silver or bronze medal winners with the boys under 12 team winning gold and the boys under 14 winning bronze. At club level Moyne won the boys under 12 event finished second in the boys under 14 event, third in the senior ladies event and first club in the grade B in the senior men’s event.
"In the boys under 9 event Noel Kelly, Coolquill, was our first athlete home in 18th. He was followed by Eamonn Cahill, Coolquill, in 32nd with Alan Leahy, Moyne, in 44th and Patrick Ryan, Moyne, in 70th.

"The girls under 9 event saw Amy Maher, Moyne, finishing 20th. Margaret Leahy, Moyne, 21st, Ann McGrath, Coolquill, finishing 29th, Niamh Gleeson, Moyne, finished 40th, with P. Alexander, Coolquill, finishing 44th. Eleanor Stokes, Moyne, finished 51st with Tracey Ryan, Moyne, finished 52nd.
"In the girls under 11 event Jacqueline Cahill, Coolquill, finished 20th with Siobhan Madden, Moyne, in 22nd. Sinead Everard, Moyne, finished 29th, with Patricia Ryan, Moyne, in 37th.
"In the boys under 11 event Ross Alexander, Coolquill, finished 16th with Niall Curran, Anne Kickhams in 17th. Odhran Lloyd, Moyne, Everard, Moyne, in 33rd. Michael Fitzgerald, Coolquill, finished 34th with William Cleary, Moyne, in 40th, John Stokes, Moyne in 50th and Aidan Moore, Moyne, in 69th.

"The boys under 12 team all ran exceptionally well to win the inter-county event. They were led home by Paul Kelly, Coolquill who had an excellent race to finish third. Michael Esmonde, Moyne, finished 4th, with Patrick Maher, Moyne, in 15th. Aidan Butler, Moyne, finished 18th, with Pierce Butler, Moyne, in 30th and John Paul Ryan, Moyne, in 41st. Moyne won the inter-club section.
"The boys under 14 gave the county plenty to cheer about when Liam Cahill, Coolquill, strode away from the field to record a fine victory. He was supported by Sean Madden, Moyne, in 9th, Pierce Harte, Moyne, in 16th, Ailbe Hayden, Moyne, in 21st and Donnacha Lloyd, Moyne, in 22nd, to take the bronze inter-county medals. Moyne won the silver inter-club medals.
"Our senior men team also performed well, finishing fourth in the inter-county event. Dominic Moore, Moyne, was our leading man home in 33rd. He was followed home by John Moore, Moyne, in 34th, Pierce Butler, Dundrum, finished 36th with John Cahill, Coolquill, in 41st. Norman Johnson, Dundrum, finished 44th, with Michael Campion, Moyne, finishing 45th and Liam Byrne, Moyne in 58th. Moyne won the gold medals in the 'B' section of the inter-club event.
"Though we did not have a senior ladies team Moyne had a club team and with Maura Bowe finishing 7th, Ann Purcell 16th, Una Purcell 19th and Eileen Ryan 32nd, they won the bronze inter-club medals.
"Other athletes from the county, bar those teams mentioned above, competed in Rostrevor and did exceptionally well and great credit is due to those athletes who did compete for either their club or county and put in those tremendous performances."
