All-Ireland medal winning Tipperary students honoured

Tipperary minor hurler Michael Whelan and president of the Camogie Association Catherine Neary.

Waterford Institute of Technology held an event at the WIT Arena on Monday 3 October to honour their 32 past and present All-Ireland medal winning students this year. A further four members on the backroom management teams were also acknowledged.  

Along with the players, the prestigious cups, including the Liam McCarthy Cup (senior hurling), O’Duffy Cup (senior camogie), the Irish Press Cup (minor hurling) and the James Nowlan Cup (under 21 hurling) were on display.

Tipperary senior hurlers Tomás Hamill and Conor O’Brien, and current WIT student and minor hurler Michael Whelan were amongst those applauded. Damien Young from the backroom team was also congratulated.
