Tipperary man lands major role in development of Irish women's soccer

 South Tipperary's FAI Regional Development Officer David Lenane has landed a major role as the association's National Co-ordinator for Women’s Football.

His promotion reflects his high standing in the game but he will be sorely missed at grassroots level in Tipperary where he has worked tirelessly for the past eleven years.

His work has seen him cover every part of the county, either through coaching course or linking up with Tipperary Sports Partnerships and other stakeholders in Tipperary. 

David's passion for promoting the game to the highest possible standard was a credit to him and his work with the whole community through different groups, league, clubs  and ETP Squads will always be remembered. 

David along with Darren Ward were the main driving force for girls soccer in South Tipperary which in its infant years was a tough task with low numbers but since then it has flourished under David's guidance with girls participation numbers trebling over the last few years along with the boys numbers. 

Both the girls and boys Emerging Talent Programs have massively benefited from Dave's time and effort he has put in with him most weekends in Killenaule on  Saturday with the girls and then with the boys on  Sunday supplying guidance and support to the respective acoaching staff.  

Off the playing pitches David has been a driving force behind the football for all programs,  Summer Camps, Soccer Sisters Girls Camps and Primary Schools 5 a side with all numbers increasing every year through his hard work.  

 David lit the fire for a lot of people to get involved in a coaching capacity with clubs and his desire and love for the game was contagious.
