Breaking: Tipp GAA Board issue a statement re senior hurling management team.

The Tipperary County GAA Board has issued a statement in support of the senior hurling management team in the wake of the teams dismissal from the provincial championship last Sunday - the earliest the Tipp team has been out of action for twenty years.

Amid calls for their resignation and much speculation, the Management Committee, through PRO Joe Bracken has said in a statement:

"In respect to recent queries, the Management Committee of Tipperary G.A.A. County Board wishes to reiterate that following Tipperary's exit from this year's senior hurling championship, the position of the Tipperary management team is not the subject of any discussion or change. The management team was appointed last September for a three year term and have the full backing and support of the Co. Management Committee.

"Comments made by any individual(s), contrary to the above, do not represent the views of the Co. Management Committee and are therefore not to be associated with the Committee or Co. Board Officers in any way. There will be no further comment in relation to this.

Chairman of the west Tipperary GAA Board, John O'Shea had called on the management team to resign citing the forced resignation of fellow Clonoulty Rossmore man Declan Ryan as Manager, despite having won two back-to-back Munster titles, as precedent. He made his comments on Monday evening on Tipp Mid West radio.
