Rosegreen girls bow to powerful Thurles side in County Final

Rosegreen came up against a very powerful Gaelscoil Durlas side in the county final at Semple Stadium. Even in defeat the Rosegreen girls had a great experience in the ‘Home of Hurling'.

Cumann na mBunscol Under 11 B Camogie Final

Gaelscoil Durlas 9-10 Rosegreen 1-2

Sarah Barry was first to notch up a score for Rosegreen while Caoimhe Stáicliúm answered the challenge with a well-aimed 65 over the bar to claim Gaelscoil’s first score of the day. Gaelscoil seemed to have the edge from early on in the game; Molly Nic Uaid Rís showed her skill with a flick of the ball over the bar for Gaelscoil followed quickly by another 1-01 for her side. Rosegreen didn’t let this dampen their spirits however; Sarah Barry, backed by Rachel Fahey and Nora O’Brien would prove a lethal combination with 0-02 being scored from play in lightning quick succesion.

Gaelscoil were certainly fired up entering the second half much to the detriment of Rosegreen. Their backline cemented in Niamh Ní Chradóg managed to keep Rosegreen at bay while their forwards notched up score after score, Maria Raulbh scoring the goal of the match from a masterful aerial catch and long range strike into the back of the Rosegreen net. As the finalwhistle blew it was to be Gaelscoil Durlas who would lift the shield and claim the title of U11 champions.
