Former All Ireland winning Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy.
Speculation is mounting this morning that Liam Sheedy is set for a dramatic return as Tipperary senior hurling manager.
Tipperary County Board are due to ratify a new boss on Monday night and Sheedy’s name appears to be back in the ring.
After guiding Tipperary to All Ireland glory in 2010, and ending Kilkenny’s drive for five at the same time, he would be a hugely popular choice among Tipperary fans.
Ballingarry men Liam Cahill and Willie Maher had been the frontrunners for the post after Michael Ryan stepped down but reports today suggest that Sheedy is now in the running and would be a firm favourite if that were the case.
The Portroe man has been a ‘Sunday Game’ analyst in recent years and was also a front runner to be Director General of the GAA.
