Challenge matches are considered competitive by the Association.

Tipperary's season begins officially on Tuesday January 3 when they take on Waterford in the Munster League in Dungarvan.

The National Hurling League begins on Saturday February 4 when Tipp entertain Laois at FBD Semple Stadium.
