Some of the stage crew from Thurles Musical Society pictyred at the launch of the show - Anthony Kirby, Jack Gleeson, Rita Callanan, and Tommy Sweeney
Thurles Musical Society is all set to kickstart rehearsals for Made in Dagenham, which they finally hope to stage in March/April 2023.
Having had to postpone the show on a number of occasions due to Covid 19, the Society is really looking forward to returning to the stage with this hit show and rehearsals for Made In Dagenham will start this evening Thursday, January 5th at 8pm in the Ursuline Secondary School.
TMS was very close to going on stage with the show when Covid hit and Director Oliver Hurley together with Musical Director Mary Rose McNally, Stage Manager Anthony Kirby and Assistant Choreographer, Siobhan King had the show in ship-shape.
However, nobody could have predicted at the time that the curtains would remain shut for so long and that it would be three years before the Ford factory in Dagenham, England would come into sharp focus in the Premier Hall in Thurles.

There was tremendous excitement at the recently held launch of th show in Larry Fogarty’s with the Director in attendance. Chairperson Eidin Sweeney looked forward to the season ahead and echoed the message of Oliver Hurley in saying that the show is eagerly anticipated in TMS. It is a wonderfully funny, lively show but with some serious themes running throughout also.
And, an open invitation is extended to new members to come along and join in - the Society will be starting from scratch again, so even if you were not involved in the last attempt three years ago, you will be more than welcome this time round.
So, why not take the plunge and jump en-board what is sure to be a great few weeks of fun , music, song and dance. You won’t be disappointed.
