Moycarkey Coolcroo athletes enjoy strong finishes at the John Kelly Olympian 7.5km Memorial

Moycarkey Coolcroo AC was proudly represented in Loughmore on Good Friday for the John Kelly Olympian 7.5km Memorial Road Race.

The event was held in honour of the late local Olympian John Kelly.

The club says it was a 'fantastic evening of road running, community spirit, and strong performances across the board from our club members.'

Leading the charge for Moycarkey Coolcroo AC were Mossy Bracken and Matthew Ryan, who shared top honours with a joint first-place finish in 25:10. Both men pushed hard from the start and crossed the line together, showcasing the strength and depth of our senior squad.

Not far behind, Donie Bergin claimed a top 10 finish, coming home in 9th place with a solid time of 29:25, continuing his fine form after his recent personal best in Kilkenny.

There were more strong results from Liam Meaney (18th) in 31:22, Paudie Guidera (20th) in 31:55, John Molumby (56th) in 38:29, Paddy Ryan (65th) in 41:29, and Tim Hayden (85th) in 47:49.

These performances highlight the mix of experienced racers and developing athletes coming through the ranks of the club, all proudly wearing the red and black.

A big well done to everyone who took part and represented the club with grit and determination.

Also, a special mention for John Fogarty, who completed The Boston Marathon in Massachusetts in America on Easter Monday in a fine time of 3:20mins & 47 seconds, John is no stranger to marathon running, having completed at least 20+ in his lifetime, sometimes running as many as 3 or 4 a year.
