Sharon's son Joshua pictured with Dimples after his return home
The family behind a massive social media campaign to help find their missing dog have praised the ‘kindness of strangers’ after Facebook posts were shared by the public thousands of times to help in their search.
Sharon Taylor, whose beloved Staffordshire Dimples went missing on April 11, says her entire family are overwhelmed at the support they received from the community in their near three week search which also included an appeal on RTE’s Today Show.
The Taylor family were reunited with their beloved Dimples on Monday after a local spotted her in the Loughmore area.
Sharon says her family believe the dog could have been taken and then later dumped. When Dimples was found she had lost 3kg in weight and was suffering from dehydration but otherwise in good health.
“The kindness of strangers has been overwhelming. So many people shared posts and comments, it was unbelievable,” said Sharon, who also wished to thank Leanne Ryan from Littleton who provided invaluable help with the social media campaign.
“We are so happy to have our little pretty back home safe,” she added.
