Dee Morrissey on the Glor Tire Final broadcast live on TG4, March 10 2026.
Even though she didn’t take home the title, Dee Morrissey, the country singer from Bansha in Tipperary, has emerged from the Glór Tíre 2026 competition with her profile soaring across Ireland’s country music scene.
The long-running TG4 talent show, which showcases Ireland’s finest country and western singers, saw Dee reach the final with a confidence that left a lasting impression.
Looking back on her journey, Dee describes her most memorable moment as singing a duet on stage with Patrick Feeney, an artist she had admired and gone to see perform for many years.

“To be up there with him was massive for me,” she said.
While she admits she didn’t face many challenges during the competition, she did have to mind her voice for the live shows, especially given her naturally chatty personality. The experience, Dee says, was invaluable.
“I would say 100% apply to the show because you never know. It was the most wonderful experience and something money couldn’t buy. The exposure and promotion were incredible, I had four weeks in a row on national television. Where else would you get that?”

Dee’s life has changed significantly since her television debut. She notes that people now frequently recognize her in public, commenting on her performances and her television appearances.
“It’s incredible to see how many people watch the show. Every country music fan in Ireland was tuning in for the last month,” she explained.
Her phone has been “ringing off the hook” with invitations and opportunities, a clear sign of the boost the show has given her career. Looking ahead, Dee has a busy schedule lined up.
In April, she will travel to Scotland with Hot Country TV for their Dancing Weekend, followed by a trip to Portugal in May for the Fun in the Sun festival.
Further performances in Donegal and other events later in the year promise to keep her firmly in the public eye.
Dee admits that music takes precedence in her life, and with no young children to balance, she’s fortunate to dedicate herself fully to her craft, often joined by friends at gigs and performances.
“The music wins out and and I’m very fortunate, a lot of my friends come along with me to the music stuff,” she explained.
Though the competition winner was Jordan McPolin, Dee views her Glór Tíre experience as a springboard, giving her new visibility and credibility in the Irish country music scene.
With touring, festival appearances, and potential collaborations ahead, she is poised to make the most of the momentum and take her music career to new heights.
From her home in Tipperary to stages across Europe, Dee Morrissey’s journey illustrates the power of talent, dedication, and a little television magic in shaping Ireland’s next generatiAon of country music stars.
