LIVE: Motorway in Tipperary reopens after major incident in hazardous weather

A busy Tipperary motorway has reopened after gardaí issued a "collision alert" close to 4pm on Monday, May 19 at the M8 Southbound Junction 5 (Two-Mile-Borris).

Gardaí and Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service rushed to the scene of the road traffic collision on Monday.

All traffic southbound was being directed off the M8 at JCT 5 southbound for a period of time. 

Weather conditions were hazardous at the time.

According to a post on Carlow Weather at 3pm on Monday, there were thunderstorms in Tipperary at the time with strikes concentrated near Templemore.
