A Carrick-on-Suir man, who worked at the European Space Agency as an astrophysicist, will give a talk in his hometown next Monday on photographing the night sky.
Dr Brian O’Halloran’s fascinating talk and slide show on astrophotography takes place in Carrick’s Sean Healy Library on March 20 at 2pm.
It will be an overview of his journey in astrophotography over the last two and a half years from trying to capture images of Comet NEOWISE to attempting long exposure astrophotography.
Dr O’Halloran is a lifelong astronomer both amateur and professional. He has worked as an astrophysicist on programmes such as the European Space Agency’s Hershel Space Observatory.
He returned to Ireland after 15 years living in the US and UK and now lives on the Waterford coast under almost pristine dark skies.
The event is free of charge and all are welcome.
