Kilkenny poet Ben MacCoillte to perform his Lifting The Gate show in Carrick-on-Suir

Kilkenny based bilingual performance poet Ben Mac Caoilte will perform his show “Lifting the Gate” for the first hour of the Christmas Poetry Plus session for writers at Brewery Lane Theatre’s tearoom on Friday, December 15 at 8pm.

The special guest poet’s attendance at Poetry Plus is thanks to support from the Tipperary Arts Office. Mr Mac Caoilte will be accompanied in his performance by traditional and classical violinist Aisling Douris.

“Lifting the Gate” is a storytelling performance poetry and music show that Mr Mac Caoilte has performed at venues across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

The performance will be followed by a tea break after which an open mic session where writers and poets can read from their work or the work of other scribes will take place.
