Thurles' The Source arts centre will host a special screening of the critically acclaimed film about Belfast rap trio of the same name, Kneecap.
Kneecap tells the story of how when fate brought Belfast teacher JJ into the orbit of self-confessed 'low life scum' Naoise and Liam Og, the needle drops on a hip hop act like no other. Rapping in their native Irish, they lead a movement to save their mother tongue.
Last month, following high praise from cinema-goers and critics, the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) announced that Kneecap has been chosen as the Irish entry for the International Feature Film category at next year's Academy Awards.
Kneecap has received excellent reviews since opening in cinemas last month, review aggregator website 'Rotten Tomatoes' currently has the film at a whopping 97% based on 123 reviews from critics worldwide.
The Source will be showing Kneecap on Wednesday 25th September at 8pm with full price tickets costing €10.
