Each day, over two billion cups of coffee globally and approximately two million cups are enjoyed in Ireland with the average adult drinking 2-3 cups of their favourite brew.
And this weekend, there is no better place to enjoy the coffee craze as The Birdhill Coffee Festival will see over 10,000 cups of coffee brewed for the 1,500 visitors expected to arrive as the village of Birdhill transforms into the caffeine capital of Ireland for the second annual Birdhill Coffee Festival, taking place June 27 to 29.

The Irish coffee industry is valued at over €500 million annually and Ireland ranks among the top 20
coffee-consuming nations in Europe.
Alan Andrews founder of the Birdhill Coffee Festival commented; "Coffee has this incredible way of bringing people together — it's not just a drink, it's a ritual, and for us it's about building an experience around that ritual. Our coffee festival showcases the best coffees in Ireland, chosen from countries all over the world. It's an opportunity to discover new flavours and learn all the trade secrets to make great tasting coffee."
Among the festivities taking place at the festival are The Roasting Village, live roasting sessions from guest roasters Daniel Horbat at Sumo Coffee Roasters and Wojczech Tylser from Blind Monkey Coffee; roasting demonstrations, coffee tastings, sensory lab, barista competitions and brewing classes; The Boozy Brew Bar - Coffee cocktails, Irish coffees, and fine wines; Cupping Station - Taste the different flavours as the guest roasters brew a wide selection single origin roasts; The Milk Masters will teach visitors how to create amazing-looking lattes and latte art masterpieces; Start your own coffee workshop – Join Alan Andrews in a 1 hour workshop on how to open your own cafe; POP UP Matcha Bar - GUJI Coffee will host a pop-up Matcha Bar with creative blends for any tastebud; POP UP Gelato and Hot Crumble – Grumble, Limerick's brand-new concept owned by Alan Andrews coming in August will offer a delicious array of gelato and hot crumbles; all weekend BBQ Experience - enjoy lots of grilled goodies throughout the weekend; and SISU Wellness Area for wellness shots, organic Kombucha and cold-pressed juices, and Elizabeth Walsh will host a gentle morning Yoga Flow in the Park on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
