The Cashel and Emly Lourdes Fundraising Committee will hold a Buster Race Night on Saturday, October 6th at Thurles Greyhound Stadium
The Cashel and Emly Lourdes Fundraising Committee are set to take to the race track this October in aid of the annual diocesan pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.
While many travel with us each year, the assisted pilgrims are our main focus in making it possible for them to travel to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Approximately 60-80 assisted pilgrims travel on the pilgrimage and this is only possible because of the generosity of so many others who come as medical staff, male and female helpers, youth group, and clergy.
Although many local Lourdes Committees fundraise to sponsor local parishioners to go on the pilgrimage, we at diocesan level have a very active fundraising committee (drawn from the various parishes throughout the Diocese led by the pilgrimage directors, Fr. Jimmy Donnelly and Fr. Joe Tynan), who work hard to help subsidise pilgrim fares and meet the considerable high costs involved in running our pilgrimage.
The fundraising committee have organised “A Night at the Dogs” this year as one of its major fundraising events. This Buster Race Night is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th 2018 at Thurles Greyhound Stadium. First race at 8pm. Tickets:- €10 (includes admission, race programme & entry into buster draw which has a 1st prize of €500).
Accompanied kids go free. Face painting for the kids. Ceol agus craic after final race with the Smooth Sounds of Country with John Gorman. Tickets available from 086-8423172
