Casmpaign launched to fund theatre renovation
St. Mary's Choral Society, Clonmel is a non profit organisation that fosters talent and creativity amongst the youth of the town and surrounding areas.
Its residence is that of the White Memorial Theatre, Wolfe Tone Street, Clonmel.
This building was constructed in the 1800s and initially served as a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel.
Today, however, it acts as the town's only functioning theatre. For those of you that have attended an event at the White Memorial Theatre, you will be aware that renovations are needed in order to keep this beautiful theatre alive.
As a result, committee members of the society have decided to reach out to you, the public, to raise much needed funds for a theatre that is dear, not only to them, but to numerous people and organisations within Clonmel.
They have currently started renovations to install a wheelchair accessible ramp for their patrons and the many visitors that they
have throughout the year. They hope to raise enough money so that further improvements can be made to a theatre with so much history and personality.
As a result, they have set up a Go Fund Me page to help with the costs to keep the theatre open.
All monies raised will be used solely for upgrade purposes. Please donate as much or as little as you can afford to help keep this beautiful theatre alive. You can donate online via the following link:
