Tipperary community facilities awarded share of €1million funding pot

18 community facilities are set to benefit from a share of the €1.29million funding

A number of community centres and facilities across Tipperary have been allocated a share of over €1million to invest in their offering.

18 community facilities across Tipperary are set to benefit from a share of the €1.29million funding boost, which was confirmed this week.

The funding provides for works such as building renovations, enhanced amenities, accessibility measures and energy upgrades to help build the resilience of local communities.

Facilities who are set to get the funding in Tipperary include Aherlow Kilross Community Council, Cahir Developments Association, Clonmore Community Centre Limited, Fethard and Killusty Muintir Council, Kilruane MacDonagh GAA club, Millennium Family Resource Centre, Monsea Muintir na Tire, Roscrea Abbey Community Centre and Rosegreen
Development Association.

Also included in the funding boost are The Marian Hall, Thurles RFC, Knockavilla Community Council, Nenagh Choral Society, Bournea Parish Development Association, Waterford and South Tipperary Community Youth Service, Ardcroney Community Centre, Cabragh Wetlands Centre, and Castleiney Development Association.

The funding has been welcomed by North Tipperary TD Michael Lowry who said that "good facilities encourage and empower local participation, which builds community spirit and pride.

"If local facilities are provided to a high standard and properly maintained, they become a local hub and a welcome place for people to gather socially, to play or support local sports and to foster lasting bonds between local people of all ages," Deputy Lowry said.
